ARES SC4 is a sound card specifically designed for use with DJ software. The Software DJ has two settings, external and internal. ARES SC4 makes the most of them in different scenarios.

ARES SC4 as peripheral, the main task of a sound card is to convert audio signals from the analogical domain to the digital domain and viceversa.
